Heather is Associate Commissioner for Educator Quality at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in Massachusetts. She had previously served as Vice President for Programs at Teach Plus in Boston and as Director of Teacher Quality at the Education Trust in Washington, D.C. She was a founding member of the Project on the Next Generation of Teachers. Heather received her master’s and doctoral degrees in Administration, Planning, and Social Policy at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and her BA from Kenyon College.
