Megin Charner-Laird is a professor in the McKeown School of Education at Salem State University. She co-directs the programs in educational leadership and the Center for Educational Leadership at the school. After graduating from Swarthmore College, she spent four years teaching elementary school in California’s Bay Area. Her research focuses on school leadership and teacher leadership, as well as the intersection between the two. She also focuses on professional learning as a mechanism to support the development of effective disciplinary literacy practices. Charner-Laird’s recent publications include *Critical Disciplinary Literacy: An Equity-driven and Culturally Responsive Approach to Disciplinary Learning and Teaching*, published by Routledge as well as articles in *The Educational Forum*, *The Learning Professional*, and *The Journal of Advancing Education Practice*.
